I'll post more when I think of it, but I find myself youtubing tracks from Metallica's two most recent albums (Death Magnetic and St. Anger). Now I do think there old stuff is wicked, but for some reason, I keep coming back to these songs.

Also, I like that new All About That Bass song. I don't know if that counts or not, but I generally steer clear of top 20 radio songs.

I'll take that song over anything Metallica's released in my lifetime.

I woke up with Pieces of Me by Ashley Simpson stuck in my head yesterday and tortured my roommates by blaring it on the system. And I knew way too many of the words.

Also, Shake it Off is shamefully kind of good. It's no Call Me Maybe, but it's aight.

I wouldn't call Jack's mannequin a guilty pleasure, but I definitely would call his new album that. I've been listening to it all day

I dunno... I like that "Shake It Off" song by Taylor Swift.

I also like stuff like this since I play a lot of DDR/Stepmania on my machine and they make for great stepcharts - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IN_EhGdDoOU

The Supremes should not be a guilty pleasure. That second post is great though.

I actually agree with Chuck about the early stuff being better, but that's gonna take this thread in a weird direction.

God I miss that feeling of absolute excitement and stokedness and chills running down my spine when I hear a new band and new song and just absolutely must hear everything that band has ever made...

I can definitely separate songs I like from songs I don't, but being a sports DJ has just totally fucking destroyed my music listening habits and preferences. Some people say they listen to everything but are full of shit; I am not one of these people. I HAVE to be able to find songs in any genre that I like.

Typical play list:

Monday Sept 1

Walk in:
blues bros theme
Gettysburg - ratatat
wildcat - ratatat
i dont know - sheepdogs
Learn to Fly - foo fighters
RHCP snow
(stretch) From the ritz to the rubble - Arctic Monkeys
- buddy holly - weezer

Warm up:
hammerhead - offspring
Tiesto Maximal crazy - custom edit
levels avicii - custom edit
rock and roll - zeppelin
(stretch)
Fell in love with a girl - white stripes

Pre game:
fifty misison cap - tragically hip
steady as she goes - arctic monkeys
(stretch) fever - the black keys

Walkon:
Crazy train

O The Candy Cane Forest ------>

pre puck drop:
Brianstorm arctic monkeys

1st:
sixteen saltines : jack white
limelight - rush
lonely boy - the black keys
paranoid - black sabbath
breathe - prodigy
tnt
pretender
sweet mountain river - Monster Truck
some chords - Deadmau5
seek and destroy
dont stop skankin
intergalactic
i cut like a buffalo jack white
killing name of
california sun ramones
devil on my shoulder billy talent
the trooper iron maiden
fire jimi hendrix
pressure and time rival sons
master of puppets

2nd:
get whats comin rival sons
icky thump white stripes
hash pipe weezer
howlin for you black keys
immigrant song
welcome to jungle
GOAL GOLD ON THECEILING
freewill
whole lotta rosie acdc
smokin boston
everybodyclapyourhands
shippin up to boston
we no speak americano
GOAL KEEP ON SWINGIN
communication breakdown zeppelin
are you gonna be my girl jet
know your enemy RATM
war pigs black sabbath
brain cycles Radio Moscow
come out and play
the way it is sheepdogs
heartbreaker
white orchid white stripes
sharp dressed man
testify
salute your solution the raconteurs
voodoo child
yyz
monkey wrench
viking death march billy talent
guerilla radio
push the tempo - ratboy slim
tribal dance - 2unlimited
ram jam
GOAL OHOH
its a long way to the top

1st intermission:
Loud pipes
cantina band
highway to hell

2nd intermission:
stuck in the middle with you
happy - pharrel
minnie the moocher

End 3/walkout:
Back in black
Hit the road jack

So mainstream it hurts.

Prince, most specifically Sign o' The Times, just an excellent record.

No. The only natural emotion one should feel after hearing that^ is pure shame. No other emotions, especially not pleasure. Also, nice playlist for the hockey games. I've only been to one NFL game in my life, but it seems like hockey and loud rock and roll go hand in hand. What's up with that? Never really got into hockey, but I think I like that.

I USED to feel early Beatles was better, so I understand this notion. Now it's all the same to me--good. But the early stuff is definitely WAY more accessible.

Now, I don't consider the oldies/classic stuff guilty pleasure stuff, so my vote for the winner of this thread is Pieces of Me.
