Understanding why my 10 year older than me girlfriend got irritated with me after talking to a girl 10 years younger than me. What a fucking mess. Too old to post nudes of anyone anymore.

Also bought a house. Think JP did too. We're truly getting old.

Also, I can't help but feel like a hipster about Jeff. I met a girl recently who was like "Have you heard of a guy named Jeff Rosenstock – he's like punk/emo and it's really good" and I basically threw up information on her. It wasn't cute.

Yep bought a house in NC. Pretty crazy, I don’t feel like an adult still and I’ll be 30 in a few months. Is there some threshold you cross at some point and studdenly you feel like an adult? I understand I’m taking on more and more responsibility but i can’t help but feel like a kid still. Maybe having a kid forces you through that transition or maybe there is no transition and everyone feels like a kid forever.

Anyone on here feel like an adult and can offer perspective?

you feel like an adult when you decide to. at some point you look around, recognize that you're not faking all this stuff, you ACTUALLY do know who to call when your water heater breaks, you know how to do your taxes or who to call to do your taxes, you know how to pay your bills, you're good at your job

and you realize well i guess i'm an adult

or you never get there, and that's kind of okay too

when you're a kid, being an adult seems like it means always knowing what to do. when you actually become an adult, it means knowing who to call to tell you what to do.

(or more realistically but in a less fun soundbite, it means knowing how to google, and being responsible enough to do it instead of just continually avoiding it)

Being an adult is thinking the term "adulting" is asinine and childish

The people in my life that I feel are the most "adult-ish" have kids. I think there might be something to having a kid and taking care of another life that kind of forces the idea of being a responsible adult.

I basically have everything an adult "should" have except a kid. I fully recognize that I am an adult, and have to step into that role a lot, but it's not something I necessarily claim for myself.
