I've been trading small amounts on Robinhood which is a notoriously shitty app, but it's free, so whatever. I made a trade and should've profited like $6 or $7, but instead the dumb app paid me $650. Gonna be a good Christmas, boys.

EDIT: I also took out a $25k loan from American Express to invest because I like to live on the edge.

Apparently AmEx will give active duty military 0% interest, but you have to take the loan out and ask for it. I asked for it and am currently waiting for confirmation that it's been approved. In the meantime, I invested it in fixed-return assets so it's really just low risk arbitrage. I should've waited to get approved before taking the leap, but I am indeed stupid.

For some reason JPMillman popped up in my Venmo feed. Standing there in a god damn Arsenal shirt. Made me think of this place.

Like, were not FB friends? Do I have his phone number in my contacts for some reason? No clue.

That works too.

I keep randomly thinking "Holy shit my useless video game skills won me something"

"My mom always told me my video game knowledge would come in useful. I just never believed her."

It appears AmEx just slashed the loan from 9% to 4%. Which means I will still lose money. I'm going to call tomorrow to figure out for sure, but I already put the money in instruments that I can't immediately cash out. Except for the stocks I bought that promptly lost 5%. lol, I knew it was too good to be true.

Robinhood actually came back for their money like a week later and I only made $50 more than I should have. Then I lost a couple hundred dollars on some other trades and now my cash balance is -$24.

Do you guys catch yourselves doing things that make you feel old? I take screenshots of what Spotify suggests for me so I can remember to download it later for my iPod. Most people would just be content to listen to it on Spotify, like, I'm aware that I'm adding an extra step to something that I don't need to, kinda like people who go out of their way to listen to something on vinyl when a CD was much more accessible. I really feel like I'm in this strange in-between generation. For the most part, we all grew up while internet was first taking off. Kids and teens today grew up with a much more developed infrastructure. I totally sound like an old man rambling on. I just think it's funny in a way.

I'm posting on message board in 2018. Why is Random Thoughts not a Facebook Messenger Group Chat? What is life?

I seriously miss having a working iPod. It was so much nicer owning everything there in one place and being able to organise it by genre.

Spotify just sucks in so many ways and it's overwhelming having access to almost every song ever.

I had an Italian beef this week from portillo's. It was good and they should have them everywhere.
