ive already posted a lot of this in up the comix, but since i know most of you avoid that thread like its the clap, im going to revise and repost it here.

so me and my buddy decided that for a kind of cheap/mini vacation we would go visit his mom and step dad in chicago. yesterday they come down and pick us up and right off the bat we find out that his mom scored us these insane tickets to a cubs game tonight. apparently, were directly behind home plate in these impossible to get seats. pretty much awesome.

later on in the car ride we start talking about movies and i comment on how nowadays theyre so unoriginal and are all sequels, remakes or comics. his step dad brings up that his uncle is a writer but that screenplays are really where he makes all his money. he talks about some keanu reaves movie from a few years ago that was based off of one of his books and how he made a bunch of money when he helped them turn it into a movie.

"wow really? what movie was it?"

"uhh...hellsomething? hellblaze? uhh..."

"constantine?"

"yeah thats it. my uncle mike made a bunch when he helped them write the screen play"

"uncle mike like...mike carey?"

"yeah, you heard of him?"

"like...'ultimate fantastic four', 'who do you trust', 'xmen' mike carey?"

"yeah"

-total geek out-

tl;dr - last night i got wasted with mike carey's nephew and today im going to a cubs game with amazing seats.

Haha dang. That's pretty cool. Right now I'm sharing an apartment with a 50yr old eccentric actress lady who did additional dialogue recording for Funny People, Year One, Pineapple Express, 40 Yr Old Virgin, and a lot of other stuff. Not quite as impressive. And Robert Wagner's balcony faces my bedroom window. I hear him watch Seinfeld every night haha.

You should go say hi to Danny since his apartment is 1 1/2 blocks south of Wrigley Field haha

This thread is awesome, and I'm extremely jealous.

Mostly because you went to what sounds like an awesome game and saw my favorite player basically pwn.

Also, while European women aren't usually fat, most smoke, which is a huge turnoff for me personally. But really, what the fuck...it's just a one night stand anyways, so who cares at that point.

honestly, the game was pretty boring until the grand slam...we sat through 9 innings without a single run. not to mention the fact that they cut beer in the 7th so we had to sit through 6 long sober innings.

still though, i had an awesome fucking time. tonight its sounding like were going to go gambling on this river boat casino. more on that as it unfolds.

I hate how they do that. Is that a thing with all baseball games? They don't do that in other sports do they?

Anyway, they allow you to bring in water bottles at the Rangers stadium so I just fill one with white rum or something and use that. Hell yes.

Nevermind. I might go watch the rangers play the mariners on Friday. I don't follow baseball enough to know how this game will be.

most pro sports have some sort of cut off, but overtime in other sports usually dont last as long as baseballs do. also i think Wrigley has like a 930 cut off time for serving alcohol as well. the organ and announcements also stop at 11pm weeknights and 12 weekends (but there is rarely a night game on the weekends)

I guess that kind of sucks, but who buys alcohol at sporting events? A bottle of shitty light beer is like 6.50. That's ridiculous.

Pittsburgh pirates have it best 5.75 for like a 22 or 24 ounce beer. cheapest in sports

i kind of feel like as long as you feel like you have to watch your wallet, the game isnt as much fun as it could be. so long as you dont go very often, dropping a decent chunk of change isnt so big of a deal and its way more fun.

final night of awesome mini-vacation :
1.) river boat casino
2.) strip club
3.) white castle

i count this trip as an absolute success.

I keep my wallet in the front pocket. people think its weird cause most people sit on their wallet, but I've always put it in my front pocket, plus it's easier to keep an eye on it if it's in the front.
