I just tried this,

http://www.seriouseats.com/2014/10/cast-ir...e-food-lab.html

...and it was fucking unreal.

I might seriously never buy a frozen pizza again in my life.

I lost fifty + pounds in the past 2 years just by switching from Pizza Pops/frozen pizzas to home made pizzas.

I ate a lot of processed bullshit a few years ago. Typical "late night(2am, 3amish)" (I'm awake 2pm -6am on a typical day) meal would be something like: Box of KD, 2-4 pizza pops/pockets, 2-4 corndogs, and a PB+J sammich.

Now I just eat an entire large pizza made from scratch; my dad buys dough from a local bakery. Or I'll have like, 3 PB +Js made with 3 different Jams, or make some cream of mushroom soup or tomato soup or chicken soup.

Went from 350ish down to 280, 290. Still losing weight. I'm actually the lightest I've been since before high school (I was 6'. 220 in grade 6); I am a big person, even when I was in peak athletic condition (like, playing on 4 baseball teams, 2 hockey teams and a football team simultaneously, had a 6 pack and insane traps) I weighed 280+. Honestly feel like I'm in better shape than when I was actually in shape now, and besides walking to/from school every day the only exercise I get is coaching my baseball team.

Don't eat frozen/processed food. You can eat more awesome food and still lose weight.

I do this but with pita bread sometimes, so I can get that stuffed crust.

I'm willing to give this a go. But I'm going to need bigger totillas.

And a cast iron skillet.

And pepperoni.

Remember when you got that vegan microwave pizza that wasn't actually microwavable? Good times.

Alright haters, calm the fuck down.

First of all,

I'm not claiming this shit is edging out the best slice in New York or Chicago (or even fucking Milwaukee). I'm not even saying it's better than Toppers or Pizza Hut or whatever garbage chain you eat when nothing else is open and you're wasted.

All I'm saying is that it makes Digornio its bitch.

I can't wait til next summer when I have a job/money and can justify buying non-Kroger brand foodstuffs (cause this is still gonna taste like shit with Kroger pizza sauce and cheese).

Side note: if you have never broiled your pizza the last couple minutes, you're already losing. One of the easiest gamechangers IMO.

This seems like something that would be fun to make with the girlfriend.

I made this last night, it ruled. It's also pretty much the first time I've cooked something for my chef girlfriend that wasn't laughed at, so thanks for that.

i would do this if it didn't require a cast-iron skillet. can i just do the whole thing on the stove with a frying pan?

As long as that pan is oven safe for the broiling I can't see anything catastrophic happening. Might not be as crispy.

I think he meant that he'd do it on the stove top. if you have a cover for the pan maybe?

this falls under "pan safe for the broiling", but even if you think it is, if it has a plastic handle it's no good for going in the oven.
