When I last saw them, they didn't even play Taking Chase..... Way excited to see them in August in SLC though! Do post the set please.

It really seems to me that they are trying to move on from the horns. Find it unlikely they will have them in their live set. At best, you are going to get some songs on albums that include horns. Kinda like Goldfinger.

But I agree, some songs just wouldn't be the same without them. Others they could easily get by.

Wow, was not aware they did that. I remember seeing a video of Superman online without horns...that song just does not work without horns.

For the Rx Bandits....Does anyone know who played the horn parts in Bury It Down Low on Mandala?

yes, that is me. i swear for a split second i thought i saw a guy with an scu shirt at the show last night... but i wasn't about to fight through a huge crowd of people to go introduce myself during all the mayhem... you should come over sometime next year i'm gonna be living off campus.

so they played a sick ass set. they pretty much avoided any songs that are heavy in horns cus there was no replacement. my only complaint is that the keyboards were either way too fucking loud or almost inaudible, and matt would sing really quiet on the parts where he usually yells (maybe he's sparing his voice for the rest of the tour?). i was high as shit so i'm doing my best to remember the set list..

(not in order, sorry)
to our unborn daughters
lonesome only friend
consequential apathy
million miles an hour
...and the battle begun
in her drawer
only for the night
its only another parsec
mientras la veo sonar
bring our children home
prophetic
decrescendo

in between songs they did lots of sweet jamming. some of it was intense tribal beats (each member had their own little set of drums) and some of it was really chill stuff with a reggae feel.

I saw this thread but never bothered to check if there were any dates near me. Coincidentally, as I was walking back from class today I saw a flyer with something "Rx" on it, and to my surprise, it turned out to be an advertisement for the show in Carrboro. I'll probably be going, though I don't know any of the other bands playing.

Do you think they are going to try to replace the horn players eventually? At the very least just for touring? Or do you think they just move on as a 4 piece?

It seems to me that they want to move forward as a 4 piece.

Damn I really wish they were coming to the Cleveland area.
