It has a 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. I liked it, but I am not sure if it's 98% good if you know what I mean.

It was kind of like Judd Apatow with dragons because 3 of the voices are Jonah Hill, McLovin, and the main character from She's Out Of My League who's been in some Apatow movies.

Okay to wait for it to be on DVD?

Speaking of which I need to move Mr. Fantastic Fox up in my queue.

EDIT:
Buying gas is the motherfucking worst.

Any movie that is considered a "kids movie" is safe fodder to DVD wait, IMO. Unless you go see it during a school day before all the littl'uns get out of school and see it before they can pack the theatre and make lots of noise. Except Pixar movies. You have to see those in theatres.

I wound up seeing it because the theatre I went to didn't have Shutter Island, and it was the only other thing I was at least semi-interested in.

Yeah, it took me a few minutes to think of what I bought today. Then I kinda cringed at how fucking boring it was.

Edit: @ homerow.

Shutter Island was sweet. But if you know anyone with a decent set-up you can totally wait and see it on DVD. The awesomeness is in the storytelling.

Actually, I know several people with good theater set-ups so unless it's like Inglorious Basterds or Avatar* I usually wait unless it's just something I HAVE to see.

*Still haven't seen Avatar.

It's only worth seeing if you're gonna do it in theaters. I expect it will be a pretty mediocre movie on DVD.

IMO part of the fun of seeing new movies is talking about it with people. "Did you see ***** this weekend?" "Yeah dude I saw it Friday it was awesome!" "Blah blah blah!" "Blah, blah blah blah blah!"

Not as fun if the movie's six months old.

But I see your point.

Oh, I also completely believe that an excited audience completely enhances the experience.... by a LOT. Seeing Inglourious Basterds on my computer is absolutely nothing like seeing it opening night.

I am watching this tomorrow with my couple-friends Kim and Travis. On Blu-ray. Be jealous. I hope. I figure it's got to be good.

I bought a bag of ice and a 2-liter of Cherry Crush for a little under $3 dollars. I needed something to mix with my amaretto.
