I'm seeing Hamilton tonight after being obsessed with it for quite some time. If you haven't listened to the soundtrack yet you probably should.

Nah, you're right. It was top of your album of the list thread post and I'm sure I've ignored (not that I've wanted to) links you've posted over the course of the year.

So good, though? Right? Aphasia puts me in my happy place.

Cardinal is great and so is their audiotree session, they have a bunch of other material that isn't recorded so great but they play it all on that session and its quality.

Hey. How come no one here told me to listen to Pinegrove? I had to wait until USA Today or some shit recommended it. But Cardinal fucking rocks.

Dude I've been talking about Pinegrove all year, granted I do post a lot less so that could be why. But still Facebook and stuff I guess?

Cardinal is AOTY for sure

My favorite btmi moment was when I went to the scrambles release show in Brooklyn with Robby. It was a little house show that was packed to the gils. AJJ opened and it was amazing. Bomb went on played all of scrambles and it was the best. I talked to Jeff about that show the last time I saw him and he said "yeah that was the night we realized we probably shouldn't play houses anymore."

I'm so out of touch with all of what you guys are talking about, except for Jeff Rosenstock. I have one Crying album that is good, but it's mostly samey very loud synth over indiscernible lyrics. It sounds catchy, but it didn't hook me. I looked it up. The album was 'Get Olde'. Is this new album better or different than that?

I loved get olde but I think this is a better album. This album doesn't use 8 but sounds like a crutch like the last album did. Also lyrically this album seems more powerful, still very synth heavy. I say give it a shot but if you didn't really care for get olde you might not enjoy it.

1) Pinegrove - Cardinal

Everything else:
Crying - Beyond the Fleeting Gates
Chance the Rapper - Coloring Book
Jeff Rosenstock - Worry
PUP - The Dream is Over
Signals Midwest - At This Age
Into It. Over It. Standards
Somos First Day Back

I feel like I'm forgetting some stuff.

It's absurd that America couldn't hold Trump accountable for things he said, we basically said "hey Trump we know you said all that racist, misogynistic, xenophobic shit but it's cool you can still hold the most prestigious job in the country." Now others will feel the same way in that they can follow in his example, the attitude in America is going to get more hateful than I can imagine. Sorry to be so negative but I already saw it 1 day after the election. I was speaking to my Dad about this and he said it was the same after Bush got elected, there was a shift in attitude across the country a much more hateful one. It didn't help that 9/11 happened shortly after to amplify that hate.

The first black president is leaving the White House and the first openly racist, xenophobic, misogynistic president is entering that position. I honestly don't even know much about trumps policies if he actually has any but if you're a person who identifies with those ideals of hatred you are not fit to be the leader of the most powerful country in the world. This is a president who wants to punish journalists, change libel laws. He called for a total and complete shutdown of muslims entering the US. And Pence thinks you can convert a persons sexual orientation.

I was trying to have this conversation with a friend of mine who is completely indifferent. He didn't vote. He told me "nothing is going to change for me." And I responded "that is very likely but that viewpoint is the problem. I bet there's many people, like you of your demographic who share the same thought. I'm so afraid for the people of this country that aren't in our demographic. I'm privileged, I'm fortunate, I'm a straight white middle class male in America. I won't experience the hate others will. maybe we should stop thinking about how this is going to effect us and think about how it's going to effect others." That actually opened his eyes a bit. But it made sense to me that he didn't realize how others would be effected, I'm sure many others don't realize it. I'm sure that ignorance contributed to Trump getting elected.

This has been a giant step backwards for our country. Sorry for the rant, needed to post that somewhere that wasn't Facebook.

no laugh tracks in The Candy Cane Forest. aint you ever seen corner gas or the trailer park boys?

edit: also grow some new ears theres no laughing over talking except for one joke.... bitter much?

I was gonna make a post right after my post saying "sorry I'm clearly frustrated and on edge"

So yea there's that but also there is totally a laugh track. And by can't hear I meant I wasn't listening to the jokes because I was so annoyed with the laugh track. The show might be filmed in front of a studio audience, doesn't mean they don't add laughs in when they peter out after multiple takes of the same jokes. idk man my heart isn't in it to argue about stupid shit right now so whatever.
