Dylan and Skylar- I drove from San Antonio to Vegas right after I graduated college. It took us like 22 hours or so with stops, including one long stop at a Walmart in Phoenix. Anyway, it was awesome. After 3 nights in Vegas we went on to Santa Barbara for 3 nights, Los Angeles for a day, and San Diego for 2 nights. Then drove back 18 hours with only stops for gas and bathroom, which was hellish.

Anyway, it was my first time to Vegas, and it was great. Driving is worth it. It's actually a fairly pretty drive.

Of course, New Orleans is closer and better imo, but you can't really go wrong with either one.

Hey Tigershark, I was the guy at the show with the suicide machines shirt.

o man awesome lolol

i saw two dudes, one was wearing an against all authority shirt, the other in a suicide machines. i ended up asking if they liked streetlight manifesto, they said ya, i asked if they posted on any forums and it turned out the dude in the suicide machines shirt had an account here but he said he never posts.

vegas trip was awesome except for missing adolescents the first night. that SUCKED and damn near ruined my night.

songs i can remember that tsol played:
sounds of laughter
abolish government
fuck you tough guy
terrible people
the triangle
i'm tired of life
dance with me
code blue (closer)
it was an awesome set. broed out with jack after the show in some yogurt shop. and by broed out i mean i saw him in there, walked in pretending to be interested in whatever store he was in before looking what it was, he gave me a bro hug, i walked away, realized i was in a yogurt shirt and wanted nothing, then turned around and got in his way, then left.

songs i can remember bad religion playing (over the course of two nights):
do what you want (opener)
we're only gonna die from our own arrogance
fuck armageddon this is hell
along the way
how much is enough?*
pessimistic lines
best for you*
change of ideas
big bang
no control
you
flat earth society*
21st century digital boy
generator
recipe for hate
american jesus
man with a mission
leave mine to me*
the handshake*
marked*
infected
them and us*
a walk*
ten in 2010*
supersonic
prove it
can't stop it*
materialist*
overture/sinister rouge
social suicide
atheist peace*
los angeles is burning
germs of perfection*
new dark ages
requiem for dissent
dearly beloved
won't somebody (full band)*
sorrow (closer)

i've seen this band live a lotttttttt and they played a whole bunch of songs that i'd never seen live before. they have a * next to them. also, the only thing they have EVER played off the gray race since brett came back has been come join us. they didn't play that, but they did play three OTHER songs off the album. 10 in 2010 was especially awesome when greg yelled, "zero more years we'll think of a solution!" plus, i'm sure i forgot about a whole bunch of songs. i was drunk out of my mind the entire time i was out there.

i got kicked out of the show for fighting on the second night during their last song before the encore. i don't really remember why, but i ended up punching some dude who was surrounded by skinheads a few times and before i knew it, they were all kicking the shit out of me. i still have a black eye from that. i got thrown out in the alley and asked security if i could stay there and listen to the rest of the set, but they told me, "no, you need to get out of here cuz those dudes roll deep." and then they walked me out of the casino. soon as i hit that guy i knew i done fucked up.

it was an epic trip overall. one friend was walking around punching random people on the strip in their faces (real punches, not like playful knuckle taps). one gorilla-looking manbeast ended up spinning around and leveling him, so my other buddy jumped in and got thrown down and immediately sprung up with a knife in his hand. i grabbed his arm and stopped him from doing anything with it (not that he would've), but a homeless guy pulled up and started yelling, "STAB HIM! STAB HIM!" and knife friend started yelling at the guy, "YOU WANT A FUCKING VEGAS TRIP? I'LL GIVE YOU A VEGAS TRIP!" and so for the rest of the trip we referred to any sort of pain infliction as a vegas trip. example: "i vegas tripped the casino at the blackjack table."

i found $1 blackjack tables at the sahara and they were awesome. i was doubling 15s against 17+s, splitting 10s, and all sorts of other stupid shit you'd never do at a real table. one time i got a blackjack and asked the dealer nicely if i could split my jack and my ace and she let me. i ended up losing that hand.

OH YEAH and my friend who was punching people for no reason got a jaywalking ticket. do not jaywalk in vegas.

lessons learned:
don't attack groups of skinheads
don't jaywalk
dick massages are available for $150. ask a cab driver for the place.
$1 blackjack tables are so awesome
cursing in a bank at the airport will get you escorted out of the airport by the tsa
etc.

Why punch random people in the face? That part is kind of crazy. I like your friend is pissed he got thrown down when he was defending a guy punching random people in the face though. lol.

yeah that part was really crazy/weird. he just goes "i'm gonna punch random people in the face" and me and other friend laugh at him. a few minutes later, he goes, "there's my guy," and walks up behind some chubby dude trying to hit on a couple of babes and punches him in the face. the guy turned around and looked at me after since my friend had walked off and didn't know what to say to him. i just told him "sorry you got punched in the face" and walked away.

the next guy he punched was a guy standing by himself in front of the bellagio watching the fountains. he turned around and started talking shit like he was going to fight back, but ended up doing nothing.

the next guy was this huge highschool football hero looking dude walking toward us with his girlfriend and he got punched head on. after the vegas tripping fiasco, we managed to talk the punching friend into not punching anymore people.

edit:
just so we're clear, i do think that while his activities were extremely fucked up, i also think that they were hilarious. if anyone ever randomly punched me in the face, especially in vegas, i'd punch him back in a heartbeat. no chance in hell i'd let it slide.

BUT, we did end up locking him out of the hotel room all night. took his name off the room so he couldn't get a key, unplugged the room phone so he couldn't call, told security not to let him in the elevators, etc., etc. he slept in a diner that night and was a lot calmer the rest of the time we were there.

your friend sounds like a very drunk asshole!

Fix'd. Hopefully. Doing that sober somehow seems even worse. Although I guess he could just be both dumb and drunk.

EDIT:
I was walking back from a party at like 7 AM once with some friends and we did a bunch of pointless vandalism though. So I can't say I have never done anything pointlessly shitty. And this is just the first thing that comes to mind off the top of my head because this guy in a suit walking to work my friend who is ripped and huge gets really close to him and is like, EXCUSE ME MR. DIPSHIT.

Which I am sure freaked that guy out.

Also, one time I was throwing mayonnaise at people from a balcony. Then I saw some cops writing some dude a ticket and threw it at them. They started running up the stairs and I went across the hall to another apartment and immediately passed out on a couch. They came in looking for me and I was just asleep on the couch and they didn't notice me or recognize me or something. lol. wtf? Why was I such a dick when I was a freshman?
