Nah, you're right. It was top of your album of the list thread post and I'm sure I've ignored (not that I've wanted to) links you've posted over the course of the year.

So good, though? Right? Aphasia puts me in my happy place.

Cardinal is great and so is their audiotree session, they have a bunch of other material that isn't recorded so great but they play it all on that session and its quality.

When musical theatre nerds become singer songwriters. ^
Not hating. Definitely thought it was pretty decent.

Iíve been jamming pretty hard to this today. Xenia Rubinos, Funky, noisy, and politically charged tracks with a distinctive voice. Some really infectious self-confidence coming across here.

I'm seeing Hamilton tonight after being obsessed with it for quite some time. If you haven't listened to the soundtrack yet you probably should.

Meh. Hamilton is like avatar. Its pretty much an average musical, but because it combines a cool new element like 3-D, hip hop, everybody raves about it like its hamelot or cats.

Hamilton is dope and my wife's family is seeing it sometime this month, but I'm not sure I see the appeal of going to see it live. To me, it was a really good concept album that stood just fine on it's own. I love seeing a good show, but near every voice you loved on the album is gone.

Meh, I'm feeling the opposite. There are a couple of good songs, but overall it seems they've increasingly gone the way of a bland alternative rock band and are missing the grit and energy of their earlier stuff. Blahblah, bands grow, let them do their thing, etc. etc., but I just can't get behind this slower sound.

Tellin' Lies is good but too much of it is in the vein of "Lookers" which is inching into cringe-worthy territory. *shrug* I'll listen through a few more times though!

I agree. This definitely sounds like another Rented World to me.

I agree with this too. I've only listened a couple of times through, but overall it sounds really bland and lacks energy. I actually loved Rented World. I didn't realize people disliked it.

I'm really digging the new Magnetic Fields. 50 Songs, one for each year of Stephin Merritt's life. It's a really great set of songs that feels really cohesive.

I'm also seeing them perform the first 25 of these songs at UCLA in April.
