That scene with Mike and the bodyguards was so awesome.

Also, while European women aren't usually fat, most smoke, which is a huge turnoff for me personally. But really, what the fuck...it's just a one night stand anyways, so who cares at that point.

this. and Odenkirk in the ending scene with Chuck. awesome.

Now don't get me wrong, this show is really really good, but this first season has explored a variety of different plotlines which is something I'm not used to. From Tuco bit, to the shady money laundering couple, to the Mike background, to the senior's home lawsuit, to the Chuck/Saul/Hamlin relationship. It keeps the show interesting definitely, but all the stories feel a LITTLE disparate. It just doesn't feel like it has a clear direction yet. But honestly, I don't care and will keep watching. Does anyone agree?

Not really. I understand what you're saying but I think it's ALL part of a larger "This is Jimmy becoming Saul" storyline that's not really confined by seasons/arcs. It's different from what BB did, but it doesn't feel like a problem for me.

I can see how it could feel that way though.

It's not like it would matter. Damage has been done.

Does anyone know if there's a planned EOL for this show? Are they going for five seasons or something, or no real plan for an end?

I think this scene was huge.

Breaking Bad had this very clear thesis statement (about a dude..breaking bad) and the lack there of has been a huge struggle for me with Saul. It hasn't really felt like the series had a point.

Now though, the idea of moral ambiguity and of people finding pride in being good at doing something bad...I think that's a cool and intriguing premise.

This is what I was getting at. They need to hone in on this thesis (even more so going forward) and use it as a solid reference point when all of the interweaving and detailed plotlines go their own ways.

Should just call this show "Mike from breaking bad takes an excruciatingly long time to do incredibly cool things while we explain where Saul Goodman came from at an equally excruciatingly slow pace."

But damned if they don't make it interesting enough for me to keep to watching.
