Anyone watching the new Samurai Jack? Its pretty legit, though I never watched much of the original series.

I do know that it was kind of experimental in art styles and while it was hit-or-miss (It DOES have Tartakovsky's timing which is the definition of hit-or-miss) the continuity of the new season makes it a lot more gripping, and the introduction of blood is actually tastefully done.

Is wonder woman as good as everyone says, or is it just better than everyone was expecting after BvS and suicide squad? I really don't see how they can make it that great, but maybe they did

Also, while European women aren't usually fat, most smoke, which is a huge turnoff for me personally. But really, what the fuck...it's just a one night stand anyways, so who cares at that point.

A bit of A, a bit of B. It's FAR better than either of those films, and definitely a genuinely good movie. They also did a damn good job at finally giving us a female superhero movie, and did her justice (ha).

I'd put it on par with some of the better Marvel movies. Not quite an Iron Man or Avengers, but still really good.

Nailed it.

I think it's a really solid super hero movie, I had a bunch of fun watching it, and I think it's super cool that there's a viable and successful female super hero property now. I definitely recommend it.

That said, it's a super hero movie. It's not like it completely turned the whole genre on its head or whatever...it's just a fun, solid superhero joint starring a woman.

That said, if you're just skeptical about making a relatively feasible/grounded super hero movie out of a character who flies an invisible jet and wields a rope that won't let people lie...I can alleviate those concerns a bit.

Opening on Themyscira is fun and fantastic and opening there makes it a little bit more conceivable. It feels enough like a fantasy film when you're there that you buy into it, then when you leave, they have the sense to poke fun at it and that dynamic is reminiscent of Captain America's "man out of time" arc.

The golden lasso was the part I was the most skeptical of going in, but bottom line...it just looks pretty fucking cool. The grays and earth tones of the WWI just get cut to ribbons by this bright, flowing, yellow magic rope...I totally buy it.

Regarding the invisible jet...thank god there is no invisible jet.

She's been able to fly plenty of times. Though she doesn't in this movie, IIRC.

She sorta flies at the end during the final boss fight. I didn't really understand what happened because I didn't know she could fly. Why didn't she fly at other times? And is lightning another super power?

I thought it looked pretty dumb in the scene where they make spy guy tell the truth on the island.

But it was a pretty good movie.

Hogan's Heroes is a fantastic show and should probably be remade at some point.

Yes and no?

It's definitely funny, but I wouldn't call it a comedy. It's really just a crazy fun take on an action movie. The whole thing feels like a super exciting trailer for a movie you can't wait to see...only it's like 2 hours long.

When Drive came out, I talked a lot about how I loved that movie, but wished it had lived up to its wheelman premise a little better. Baby Driver is everything I wanted from that movie and more.

Honestly dude, I love the Cornetto trilogy super hard and I've only seen this joint once...but it seriously might be my favorite Wright film.

So Spider-Man Homecoming was pretty good.

I just finished up Battlestar Galactica for the second time since 2012. I'd forgotten a lot of it, so it was like watching it for the first time, but my wife really enjoyed it. I'm trying to convince her to watch Caprica, but I remember it having an abrupt ending. She's recommended Hannibal for our next show we go through, but I don't know anything about it except for a decent Rotten Tomatoes score.

I haven't seen Hannibal, but Bryan Fuller's involvement is basically a seal of quality.

Two episodes in on Ozark and it's pretty good. Jason Bateman created and stars in it.

Hannibal is probably the most gorgeous crime procedural ever made.

I mean that as both a mild dig and also a sincere compliment. On the one hand, it's a pretty standard network crime procedural, but the production is bananas. I think we finished the first season before we moved on to something else, but if you dig shows like CSI or Law and Order, it will explode your skull.
