played this game for the first time at a party with some friends the other night. It was ridiculously fun. Would have made this a random thought but felt it deserved its own thread. The game is a tabletop type game but it's essentially a "who dun it" type find he murderer, in this case werewolf. Everyone gets dealt character card randomly. You can look at this card once in the beginning. Everyone then closes there eyes and the game begins. Each character has a different ability. For instance the seer gets to look at one other players card. The trouble maker gets to switch 2 players cards. The robber gets to steal a players card look at if and then give them his robber card. At the end of 10 minutes you all point to who you think the werewolf is, if it's the werewolf the villagers win if it's not the werewolf the werewolf or wolves win.

There's a lot of lying and deceiving people and also reading people it's like poker that way I suppose. Anyway shits a lot of fun I highly recommend it.

Also there is a character called the tanner and he wants to die. If he does he wins and everyone else loses, that's by far the most challenging but most fun role.

Yeah, I played mafia for the first time a few months ago and loved it so I went home and tried to look up strategies for it (because that's the kind of person I am). In the process, I learned werewolf is the exact same game.

It's pretty fun with the right group for sure though.

I keep hearing about this game and it never really sounds that fun. Then again, I haven't played it.

Also, while European women aren't usually fat, most smoke, which is a huge turnoff for me personally. But really, what the fuck...it's just a one night stand anyways, so who cares at that point.

This sounds like less of a tabletop game that you spend money on, and more of a game that you could easily fashion out of scraps of paperl

Just realized that JP's initial post does sort of imply he played a purchased version, but when I played Mafia, you literally just need a deck of cards (and could almost definitely get by without even that).

Yea you could definitely play it with some pieces of paper. I played a purchased version my friend got for Xmas and said the same thing after we played there is even a free app that goes over all the night actions and counts down for 10 minutes for you till you have to choose who to kill. So yea if you were interested in playing I would just download the app and make some cards of your own.

I've played this game a few times now. I do not particularly care for it.

Also, they made a Batman version.

That almost made me care for it.

Was that "Almost Got 'Im"? I kinda hated that one. Probably because I'm not much for poker.

Yeah I wasn't a big fan. There's a lot of chaos and the end result is that you can't effectively strategize against it. I was on team Werewolf and I effectively got a villager killed through my persuasive abilities. However, some dumb switcharoo character moved stuff around and it turned out this guy was now a werewolf. There was no way for anyone to know and I just felt cheated.

The best social deduction game is Secret Hitler. A team of fascists and a team of liberals, one of the fascists being Hitler. If he gets elected chancellor, liberals lose. Very fun.
