So I just realized I bought 2 extra tickets to the Toms River show on Saturday and I’m not using them. If anyone wants them, let me know.

This fucking band.

I bought two tickets to this show right away, figuring that there was maybe a 40% chance I could go, but if nothing else, there was no way I couldn't sell them for at least face value.

Then they announced that secret show, and the market for them got saturated with people trying to sell off their originals.

So, I made a stubhub account to sell them off, except that it was connected to my Facebook, which goes to an email I don't have access to, so I had to log into stubhub to see if they actually sold. Only, at work, facebook is blocked, so I could only log in at home.

I checked last night and sure enough, they had sold, and had to be shipped no later than yesterday.

I don't own a printer, so I went to the library to print them out. Turns out, I had outstanding library fines, so I couldn't use their computers.

Paid my library fines.

Got back to the computer, hit print, go over to the printer...it costs 60 cents, and I don't have change.

Walked home, grabbed change, drove back over.

Got the shit printed, but now it's after 5:00, so I have to drive 20 minutes to the one post office that's open till 6:00. Whatever.

Get there, wait in line...lady behind the counter tells me the shipping labels I have are for UPS.

The UPS store is like 3 minutes from my house.

tl;dr : I spent 2 hours yesterday driving around to sell my Keasbey Nights play through tickets for less than face value.

There's no good reason for it, but I feel like I can relate to that story.

Damn.

Do you know that only a small percentage of banks are robbed each year by criminals brandishing a swimming pool?

It's exceedingly folksy. Like if you found a hair in your food, they'd call it a sunrise downhome hygiene whoopsie.

Ok, so I might as well tell yall what they played:

In Tom's River they played Keasbey Nights through Footsteps, then said goodbye. Then came back and said since Keasbey was such an insanely short album they were going to play more songs. Then they played We Will Fall Together, This is a Call to Arms, Here's to Life, A Better Place, a Better Time, I'm Better Than You, The Big Sleep, and then 1234, 1234. On the first night at Asbury Park they played Failing, Flailing instead of A Better Place.

The crowd in Asbury Park was small, but they all went nuts for I'm Better Than You. My husband liked that night better because it wasn't crowded and he said it felt more intimate. The crowd in Tom's River was huge and really energetic the whole time, but I'm Better Than You was kind of lost on most of them. I liked that crowd a lot better just because it was cool to see Streetlight with such a large crowd that was really into every song.

Mephiskapheles was terrible.

Did they do that thing where they do a meta-joke about how they're pretending to say good night but really everyone knows they're coming back for an encore?

Because I think they've done that shtick literally every single time I've seen them play. For like ten years they've been doing that joke.

Also, while European women aren't usually fat, most smoke, which is a huge turnoff for me personally. But really, what the fuck...it's just a one night stand anyways, so who cares at that point.

I mean, kind of. But when you're doing an album playthrough and don't play the last song, everyone knows you're coming back. Both crowds just kind of waited for them to come back out. No cheering or anything.

It's one of two Tomas era Catch songs that were on Rules of the Game, but not Keasbey Nights.

Shoebox In My Closet
Better Than You

Whoops, searched my iTunes but I think the search was set to artists from earlier. Listened to that demo twice but not since 2010 apparently so doubt I'd recognise either of them!
